Western Michigan wins first conference title since 2016

                Western Michigan (9-4, 7-1) used an outstanding rushing performance by Jalen Buckley (193 yards on 19 carries) to avenge their only conference loss at Miami (7-6, 6-2) and win the 2025 MAC title. Buckley’s 67-yard touchdown run on the third play of the game put the Broncos up 7-0, they never trailed in the game. The Redhawks scored on the ensuing possession on a Jordan Brunson run to close the gap to 7-6 but the extra point was blocked. Bronco kicker Palmer Domschke kicked three field goals as Western took a 16-6 lead into the Locker room. In the third quarter Buckley broke off another long gallop for a 64-yard score to extend the lead to 23-6. Midway through the fourth quarter Henry Hesson hit Cole Weaver for a six-yard touchdown for Miami but they wouldn’t get any closer falling 23-13.
