Heidelberg trounces Hiram 65-27

The Heidelberg Student Princes scored early and often as they defeated the Hiram Terriers in their season opener. Led by senior quarterback Ty Poorman’s 177 yards and two touchdowns passing along with 41 yards rushing and three scores Heidelberg scored on all but two possessions. The offense racked up 504 yards with 291 being on the ground. Running back Drew Miller ran for 88 yards and a score for the home team. Defensively, the Princes scored on a fumble recovery in the first quarter while holding the Terriers to 15 yards rushing and garnering 3 sacks in the game.
Hiram had a few bright spots in the game as their offense started to click in the second half. Quarterback Sean Tejeda went 23-33 for 278 yards and two touchdowns to the duo of Jordan Stapleton and Devin Tufts. Tufts led the receiving corps with 7 receptions (102 yards).
