Adrian College falls on homecoming

ADRIAN, Mich. Oct. 3rd, 2026 — Calvin University stayed unbeaten with a 17-12 victory over Adrian College at Docking Stadium, overcoming an early Bulldogs lead and holding off a late rally. Adrian quarterback Jake Wright connected with Braiden Whitaker for a 58-yard first-quarter touchdown, but Calvin responded with two touchdown passes from Thomas Vaccaro to take a 17-6 advantage into the fourth. Wright and Whitaker struck again on a 19-yard score with 52 seconds remaining, pulling Adrian within five, but the ensuing two-point attempt failed and Calvin recovered the onside kick to seal the win. Adrian outgained Calvin 343-308, with Wright throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns and Whitaker totaling 158 receiving yards, but missed red-zone and fourth-down opportunities proved costly as Calvin improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play while Adrian fell to 2-3 and 0-2.
